The hugely popular 12 hour Marin Dusk Til Dawn race has been confirmed for the night of the 18th / 19th of September 2004. And the superb Thetford singletrack venue remains unchanged.
Brainchild of one-time MBUK journalist Chipps Chippendale, the Dusk Til Dawn's unique pitch is that it takes place almost entirely in the dark, from 8pm on the Saturday night until 8am the following morning. The novelty of racing through legendarily tight Thetford singletrack illuminated only by your bike lights gives the event a uniquely exciting twist. And with only 350 riders it's also a very intimate event with a very sociable atmosphere.
This, its third, year the event has undergone a change of organisers after Ken Ward, the original man-to-execute-the-plan, retired. The new organisers, local yokels Pauls Sumption and Hore, have promised to put everything into making sure the event is bigger and better than ever: lap timing by Timelaps.co.uk, UK trail-lighters Lumicycle will keep your lights charged (and might even let you try out one of their systems for a lap) and Marin will be launching their brand new 2005 product range, you might even be able to take one for a spin if you ask really nicely! See you there!
