PICTURE BY TDWSPORT.COM Robbie McEwen gave Davitamon-Lotto the perfect start to their beginnings in the sport by winning the Australian road title in Echunga, South Australia, on Sunday. The 32 year old easily won a four-man sprint after his new team-mate Cadel Evans had done everything in his powers to keep the break away from the chasing pack during the last part of the race. McEwen, who took the title when riding in Lotto colours in 2002, beat Robert McLachlan and Paul Craike in the final sprint, with Evans a weary fourth. Some of Australia's big names were not far behind, with Matt White fifth at 14 seconds, Allan Davis sixth and Stuart O'Grady seventh. 1 Robbie McEwen (Lotto-Davitamon) 182km in 4.10.13 (43.64kph) 2 Robert McLachlan (MG X-Power-BigPond) 3 Paul Craike (Corratec) 4 Cadel Evans (Lotto-Davitamon) 5 Matt White (Cofidis) 0.14 6 Allan Davis (Liberty Seguros) 0.33 7 Stuart O'Grady (Cofidis) 8 Simon Gerrans (Ag2r) 9 Gene Bates (Zalf) 2.14 10 David McPartland (Tenax) 3.47
