Steve Peat's new ride
Caught in its natural environment, this is Steve Peat's new ride for 2003. Incorporating a massive 4025 mm wheelbase, its sure to be stable on the downhill's and the meaty engine will give it plenty of grunt going up. Yes, at last, it's the new team van which Steve and miracle working mechanic Andy Kyffin have been sweating over for weeks.

Out goes the massive home-from-home camper van, in comes "P333ATY" a long wheelbase Mercedes Sprinter, well known for being one of the biggest and best (and, I should mention, fastest) vans on the road today. It'll hold more bikes than you can shake a muddy stick at (it says here, although personally I can shake a muddy stick at a million bikes if I want, perhaps I'm special).

Liveried up in Orange colours, with TLD, X-Lite and the rest of the Peatie's sponsors brightening up the 'white van' look, this one's hard to miss.

Look out for it and Steve at a race near you as he gets in some practise before the WC Round 1 at Fort William (31st May - 1st June, be there if you possibly can).

Meanwhile get a load of the pretty van. Quite how long it will stay white and undented, we aren't sure, but our experience of team vans suggests something in nano second range.
