PIC BY TDWSPORT.COM Davitamon-Lotto's Serge Baguet won his second stage in a row at the Ruta del Sol, proving quickest of nine riders in the final sprint in Jaen. Though the winner was the same as yesterday, the lead did change hands, although it stayed within the Comunitat Valenciana team, with Paco Cabello succeeding team-mate and fellow Andalucian Carlos Garcia Quesada. Baguet's final group was part of a larger one of about 30 riders who broke clear of the peloton after just 16 kilometres and were never pursued with any enthusiasm. Among those who finished almost half an hour down in the main pack were Garcia Quesada and second-placed Johan Vansummeren. The front group broke on the run-in to the finish in the hilly city of Jaen, which is overlooked by one of the Vuelta's favourite climbs, the Alto de Pandera. The clearly very in-form Baguet took the verdict on the uphill finish, where the crowd was buoyed by a strong showing from local boy Manuel Beltran of the Discovery Channel team. Wednesday's fourth stage takes the race to Cordoba and features three climbs in the final 30 kilometres. Will Baguet make it a hat-trick?
