PIC BY TDWSPORT.COM After three days of breakaways, the sprinters finally got a chance to shine on today's fourth stage of the Ruta del Sol, where Alessandro Petacchi led some big names into Cordoba. The Italian beat Van Heeswijk by a tyre's width for his second victory of the season. There was no change in the overall standings. Race leader Paco Cabello's Comunitat Valenciana team kept tight control on the race, helped to a large extent by the sprinters' teams. Although there were frequent attempts to break, the bunch maintained a rapid pace to resist them. Tomorrow's final stage should give the sprinters another chance to strut their stuff. It runs from Seville to Chiclana de la Frontera, with only one categorised climb on route.
