And Help fight heart disease

A new endurance event at Sandwell Valley Park in the West Midlands is being organised by the British Heart Foundation, which will take place on Sunday 8 October from 1pm. The 'Hearts First Chainbreaker' challenges riders to complete as many nine-mile laps of the course as possible in only four hours.

The nine-mile course will consist of plenty of challenging climbs, some descents, small amounts of tarmac and a lot of singletrack. Trophies and prizes will be on offer for the team and soloist completing the course in the fastest time.

The event is being organised to raise money to fight heart disease, BHF Event Organiser Louise McCathie said: "The Hearts First Chainbreaker will be a real test of determination and stamina so challenge your friends to make up a team of four or why not go solo?"

Bike demos and entertainment will be provided at the showground. For more information and to enter, call BHF on 0800 169 3672, email westevents@bhf.org.uk or visit here.
