This is the Charge Plug and for £399 it comes equipped with Charge's own bullhorn style "Slice" bars with Brown Tape, Charge's "Spoon" Saddle (also in Brown), Charge's own design straight-bladed "Whisk" forks, Sugino Messenger Cranks and it has the option of running it singlespeed or fixed by using a flip flop rear hub.
Cyclo cross style levers and caliper brakes are fitted as are removable stainless cable clips to guide the rear cable so that if you decide to run the bike fixie style the frame looks super-clean.This Plug is the first of Charge's foray into 700c wheeled bikes, and there are two other bikes in this category to follow soon.
The Tange Infinity steel framed "Tap" is equipped with flat bars, a Shimano Nexus Hub, mudguard and rack mounts and is more suited to commuting. And topping the range will be the "Mixer" equipped again with internal hub gears, but this time using Shimano's new Alfine hub and also features Shimano hydraulic disk brakes. The Mixer frame is constructed from top-of-the-line Tange Prestige steel and an eccentric bottom bracket keeps the bike looking neat.
Cycling Plus magazine will have an exclusive review of the Plug in issue 199 [out 17/07/07]. The Charge Plug will be available in the UK and Japan from August. Check out chargebikes.com for more info.
