'Project Vulcan': Exclusive Spy Shots
Rooting around the back of Steve's big shed, we stumbled across the Northwest Mountain Bike Centre's Andy Kyffin building up Steve's bike for his World's ride at Lugano.

There was still a lot of work to be done on the bike (named 'Project Vulcan') when we saw it, but from what we saw (and from what Andy was prepared to tell us...), the focus is on that constant ideal of saving weight without compromising performance.

For instance, the bolts throughout are Ti, custom-made where necessary, and X-Lite has provided a seatpost. The saddle is a carbon fibre-based road model. The rear mech is carbon-caged SRAM. Plus there's all the usual stuff like the brakes from Hope and tyres from Maxxis...

It's all topped off with snazzy new lightweight polychromatic graphics from Whitaker.
