THE MBUK North Shore Jam

Vancouver's famous North Shore is one of the planet's most stunning mountain biking spots but we've never had anything like it in the UK. until recently. Over the last couple of years, several North Shore style riding parks have sprung up on this side of the Pond, the best among them being at High Action in Churchill, Somerset.
Sponsored by Race Face and Cove, the Churchill site has shed loads of incredible riding including a teeter-totter (that's 'a seesaw' to us Brits), skinnies, a helter skelter, drops, a 180 degree wallride, more ladder sections than you can shake a stick at, and even a couple of downhill runs.
All of which makes it the perfect place for a weekend jam. which is exactly what we lovely folk at Mountain Biking UK are putting on.
How will it work? Simple. You buy your tickets, you come along, you ride, you chill, you ride some more, you have a few beers, you party your ass off. Then you do it all again the following day. It's gonna be beautiful.
Rocky Mountain will be there with some of their great demo bikes, along with Cove, Azonic, Kona, 24seven and DMR. We also hear rumours that Ellsworth, Devinci, Banshee and Norco will be there with the prospect of many more top brands coming along too.
It's going to be a mellow, laid-back weekend - not hardcore racing but some turn-up-and-have-a-go comps to win top loot from North Shore Trail sponsors Race Face, as well as Royal Racing, Azonic, DMR, Dirtyhabit and 24seven. And whoever else wants to stick something up for grabs.
Saturday night is party night - a bar and BBQ with tunes and all sorts of crazy goings on like bungee running and record-breaking boozing. You'll be able to rub elbows with some of the top dossers in the sport too - Rob Warner, Neil Donoghue, Jonny Cheetham, Helen Gaskell, Jim Davage and co will all be there sinking beers with us lot from Mountain Biking UK and loads more of the top guys are sure to come along now the word is out.
Plus, there's also the option of quad bikes, archery, 4x4 off-roading, mountain boarding and dry slope skiing/boarding on site for those with ants in their pants and non-riding partners. Go to for all the details on the extra adrenalin activities that are available.
If you want it plush, treat yourself to the great accommodation at the on-site Lyncombe Lodge hotel (go to for details). Alternatively, live it up and camp on site right where the party is.
You'd be mad to miss it. We'll see you there!
