Bike shop Wheelbase is holding its second annual Big Demo Weekend on Saturday 8 and Sunday March 9 this year. It is the largest dealer-run mountain bike test ride event with over 100 bikes on offer to tackle some of the UK’s most challenging terrain.
Managed by local guiding company Spinnoff, two demo rides will take place each day leaving at 10am and 2pm, split according to ability, and there’ll also be a dedicated downhill course and uplift service for the big bouncers.
Which manufacturers will be there? Those confirmed include: Whtye, Trek, Turner, Marin Kona, RockyMountain, Cannondale, Cove, Litespeed and Yeti.
The organisers are hoping to get hold of the new Whyte E-120 – hotly tipped to be bike of the year and the completely re-vamped Kona Coiler Air Supreme with the new ‘magic link’ system.
Wheelbase will also be holding the Big Demo Party on the evening of Saturday March 8 in their yard’s very own beer hall and local brewery – Hawkshead Brewery. If last year’s party is anything to go by, this year should be a good one…
Pre booking demo rides is essential and this can be done by logging on to www.wheelbase.co.uk
