OnYerBikeSeat, who specialise in custom branded saddle and backpack covers for business, charitable or personal needs, bill their products as ‘advertising by the seat of your pants’. The reason behind it is that since there are a billion bikes in the world today, there are at least as many saddles, so why not take advantage? Pictured here is the waterproof seat cover, which is elasticated and fits any saddle, and is customisable to any design you want. Visit their website to find out more.

Cement firm shows true grit to Cannock Chase

A UK quarry company has pledged to donate 500 tonnes of sand and gravel each year to help keep neighbouring Cannock Forest trails in tip-top shape. Trail building group Chase Trails are celebrating the move by CEMEX which will help maintain the popular trails in the 3,480 hectare Staffordshire woodland. All they need now are volunteers to help shovel the sand around and repair the areas in need of patching up. More information on doing so can be found at the Chase Trails website.

The search is on for Scotland’s fastest junior downhill racer. Throughout April and May leading up to the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup round at Fort William on 9 June, Scottish Cycling, with the support of Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland, will be on the lookout. The Mini Downhill Series, for children aged 8-16, is just like the real thing, only shorter and with smaller bikes. The prize is a big one; podium placers at the six qualifying events will be invited to compete in the final at the world cup. Click here for full details on the calendar and how to enter.
