A keen cyclist, Geoff was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia in 2003. His life was saved by a bone marrow transplant from his sister. Since recovering, Geoff has dedicated his life to raising money to fund blood cancer treatment through the Geoff Thomas Foundation. He has twice ridden the route of the Tour de France.
The Foundation is teaming up with BikeRadar Live and Geoff will be tackling the 100 mile sportive – and you can join him.
How? Whoever raises the most money for the foundation will spend the day riding with the footballing (and now cycling) legend.
Geoff said: “The sportive event looks fantastic, with lots of challenging terrain and some wonderfully quiet lanes, which are perfect for cycling. I’m looking forward to getting out on the road with the cyclist who raises the most money on the day.
“There will be a large group of Geoff Thomas Foundation riders taking part and I’m delighted that Future Publishing and BikeRadar Live have appointed the GTF as the official charity of the event.”
Simply provide us with proof of how much money you’ve raised, by showing us your sponsorship form and the person who has raised the most gets to ride with the man himself.
