BMC to sponsor UK racing team in 2009

Captained by ex-Great Britain rider Andy Lyons

BMC have launched a new UK road racing team who will compete in the Premier Calendar, National Circuit Series and Tour Series.


The 12-man BMC UK Racing Team will be captained by ex-GB rider Andy Lyons, former winner of the Tour of the Kingdom.

They will be guided by experienced directeur sportif Alan Rosner, who will focus on the development of under-23 riders.

Graham Harman, brand manager of BMC in the UK said: “BMC are proud to be supporting this talented and exciting new team and look forward to seeing the BMC UK Racing Team at the head of the UK peloton in 2009.”

The team will have the choice of the Swiss brand’s Pro Machine, Racemaster and Roadracer models, finished with Easton products, Fizik saddles and Campagnolo groupsets. Spiuk UK will provide eyewear, Daggon helmets and

ZS1 carbon

shoes. Mule Bar will supply energy bars, and the team will be kitted out with clothing from Pro Vision. Technical support comes from Green Jersey Web Design. The team will train at the Redbridge Cycling Centre with help from Powertap power meters and Garmin Edge 705 head units.
