The Brooks C17 Cambium saddle is now available to the public from www.brooksengland.com/cambium. And if you're quick and have €145 handy, you can buy one of the first 1,000 saddles, each of which will have a number etched into its nose rivet. The non-numbered saddles will retail for €125.

As BikeRadar reported in April, the C17 Cambium is Brooks' first ever non-leather saddle. The fabric consists of flexible natural rubber and organic cotton, with a waterproof textile outer layer. They're available in men's and women's models. Brooks are aiming to produce a range of these saddles, which are designed to be high quality and durable as well as more friendly to cows than their leather cousins.

Brooks have already had 200 members of the cycling public test ride the C17 Cambium, and say they've taken testers' feedback on board. We will be trying one ourselves – stay tuned for a full review.
