Cam Zink signs with Geax tyres

Nevada freerider adds Italian company for 2009

Cam Zink, American freerider.

World class freerider Cam Zink signed with Italian tyre manufacturer Geax for the 2009 season. Zink, the first US gravity pro ever sponsored by Geax, has been injecting his own beautifully fluid style into the freeride scene for some years now.

“Cam will play a vital role in the exposure of our brand and products, and will be an essential part of the further development of our gravity and extreme use tires,” said Ryan De-Long, North American Marketing Manager for the Vittoria Group. “It’s a relationship we’re very excited about.”

Usually closely followed by Kyle Strait, Zink, 23, placed high in the last two Red Bull Ramages but really shone when he won the Whistler Crankworx back in 2006.  The Felt-sponsored rider also appeared in the “New World Disorder” DVD series and other high profile freeride flicks.

“When changing tyre companies after so many years with something more familiar, different products can present new challenges, but Geax has some incredible new tires that will make the transition very easy for me,” Zink said. “The new line of Geax tires give me an excellent range to cover all of my needs as a pro rider, with some progressive compounds, tread designs, and sidewalls. This is a tire change I’m looking forward to!”

Zink will use a broad range of Geax tyres, including the new Neuron triple compound, DHEA, Booze Light, Tattoo Light, and Saguaro. Cam’s competition tires will utilize Geax’s proprietary TNT (Tube/No Tube) technology.
