Colchester businesses to take on Cycle Challenge

CTC promotes cycling in Colchester

Riders are encouraged to cycle where they feel comfortable

Businesses and organisations throughout Colchester are being invited to take part in CTC’s Colchester Workplace Cycle Challenge.

The event pits departments and companies against each other to see who can get the most employees to ride for 10 minutes or longer. Participants can choose to take part in the event anytime between Monday 22 September to Sunday 12 October and ride anywhere they want to.

CTC’s Cycle Champions Officer in Colchester, Richard Monk said, “The Colchester Workplace Cycle Challenge is all about having some fun and remembering how enjoyable cycling can be.  All people have to do is ride for 10 minutes wherever they like, so it’s nice and easy to take part.”

Prizes such as a new bike worth £400, cycle gear, 200 free cinema ticket vouchers and workplace treats are on offer for participants in the Challenge.

The event is funded by the CTC and the Big Lottery, and it’s being supported by Challenge for Change, Colchester Borough Council and Essex County Council.
