Not impressed with the carbon fiber infiltration in the Tour de France peloton? Looking for a special lightweight road bike to remind you of this year’s Tour, the 95th running of the greatest race in the world? Boston-based Seven Cycles is offering its titanium Axiom Race or Axiom SG in limited-edition colours and kit, with a guaranteed two-week delivery.
Just 21 Seven Axiom 95 framesets are available, which includes Seven branded carbon fork and aluminium steam, handlebar and seatpost with gruppo options from Shimano (US$7,740 for Dura-Ace), SRAM (US$8,149 for Red) and Campagnolo (US$8,597 for Record). The frameset retails for US$4,640.
Seven guarantees a two-week delivery if a limited edition Axiom 95 is ordered by July 12, right in time for the conclusion of the Tour in Paris.
According to Seven, its Priority One production includes Seven’s Priority One Design: Seven will set first priority for your one-on-one interview with its Performance Design team, who will then work directly with chief designer Rob Vandermark to design the bike, who then works with each customer and its retailer to ensure that the design is everything they want.
Seven’s exclusive Tour de France paint scheme is available on the Axiom Race or Axiom SG only. It includes:
- Custom yellow base color on frame and fork.
- Stage 17 inspiration: Embrun to L’Alpe-d’Huez. Many consider this to be the toughest stage of the 2008 Tour. The route is captured graphically on the top tube so you can see it on every ride and let it serve as inspiration to ride beyond your expectations.
- Accents: start and finish Tour colours included in the scheme; ’95’ to signify the 95th tour, and special US$95 paint pricing in recognition of the 95th Tour de France.
