Darren Pokoj wins dirt jump comp at Eurobike

Australian rider pips Pilgrim and Kabbani

Australian dirt jump rider Darren Pokoj won the dirt jump comp on the last day of the Eurobike trade show in Germany, beating UK rider Sam Pilgrim and German Amir Kabbani to the 2,000 Euro cash prize.


The finals on Sunday featured the top ten riders of over 80 competitors that had to qualify on Saturday, a field which included Martin Söderström, Trond Hansen, Lance McDermott, and Marius Hoppensack. The finalists rode three runs with the best two counting.

Pokoj pulled off several new tricks, here’s a lowdown on his runs:

First run: tuck no hand and backflip at the first two doubles followed by a 360 off the box.

Second run: superman seatgrab indian air, nosedive 360, tuck no hand onto the box and a 360 off the drop.

Third run: nosedive 360, cannonball, barspin onto and 360 off the box.
