Thomas Dekker takes Sunday’s road stage at the Criterium International and holds a narrow lead going

PIC BY TDWSPORT.COM Thomas Dekker, a first-year pro with Rabobank and one of procycling’s Fab 4 for this season, outlined his class and huge potential when he took Sunday morning’s road stage on the second and final day of the Criterium International in the French Ardennes. Dekker beat breakaway companion Jorg Jaksche in the sprint to the finish at the top of the final climb of nine on the stage. The win moved Dekker into the overall lead before the afternoon’s deciding time trial. Saturday’s first stage of the race was decided in a bunch sprint won by Illes Balears’ Isaac Galvez. Jaksche forced a break on the last climb of the day and was joined by team-mate Luis Leon Sanchez, but the two Liberty Seguros riders and the rest of a small group were caught on the run-in to the finish.
