Entry open for ‘UK’s toughest sportive’

Fred Whitton Challenge takes in classic Lake District climbs

Riders hoping to take part in the Fred Whitton Challenge, billed as the UK’s toughest sportive, riders are advised to get their entries in before the closing date of 8 January.

All entrants will be subject to a random draw, with 1,000 successful riders hitting the gruelling 112-mile course through the Lake District on 9 May.

Starting and finishing in Coniston, the route takes in over 3,800m of climbing through a number of testing passes including Ambleside, KirkstonePass, Patterdale and Keswick.
