Evans Cycles host their monthly Trail Ride and Sunday Sportive at Leathley, near Otley, Yorkshire on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 August.
The weekend will be an all round cycling event, with Evans own-brand Pinnacle road and mountain bikes available to demo ride for free. Bookings for both rides are taken on the Trail Break website http://www.trailbreak.co.uk/index.php, limited on the day entries are also available.
Saturday off road trail ride
The Trail Ride from Leathley takes in some of the extensive network of trails in the area. Different abilities will be catered for with three routes of varying difficulties. Each is fully marked and all riders are given a map to help navigate. Drink stops will be strategically positioned en-route to keep riders fuelled along the way. The routes are as folows:
Short: A great ride for novice and leisure riders as well as for all the family to enjoy covering 12-15 miles of well marked trails..
Medium: The medium route is more of a challenge, and at 22-27 miles of excellent off road terrain.
Long: The long ride covers between 35 and 40 miles incorporating the Medium route. The trail involves some pretty tough hill climbs, fast descents and an element of navigation.
Entry fees: £9 – £11 for pre-booked entries
Start times: 9.00am – 10.30am depending on distance
Sunday Sportive road ride
This is a chance for riders to get some miles under their belts and to sample some of the exquisite scenery that Yorkshire has to offer. The Sportive rides are non-competitive road rides along way-marked routes with three distances on offer from 40km – 140km with drink stops positioned en-route and at the finish. Maps are provided and all riders are electronically timed so they can either take the ride at their own pace or go for a personal best. The distances on offer are designed to suit all abilities.
Entry fees: £12 – £16 per person for pre-booked entries
Start times: 8.30am – 10.00am depending on distance.
