Oregon Scientific’s ATC2K helmet camera, popular with commuters over on our forum has been given a welcome update.
The camera is now capable of recording twice as much footage as its predecessor at two hours footage with a four gigabyte memory card. The card is not included but we’ve seen 4Gb cards advertised on the internet for just £7.99.
The other significant improvement on the newcomer is to the lens angle, which has gained six degrees to its field of view, so your videos will now take in more of the action around you – whether that’s recording your daily ride to the office or your favourite mountain bike trail.
The self-contained, hands-free digital video cam delivers full colour digital video in 640 x 480 VGA at 30 frames per second – even underwater. It’s PC and MAC compatible, and will work seamlessly with most video editing software.
Mounts included in the box will allow you to connect the camera to your helmet, as well as to your bike. Another handy addition is a little tripod should you want to use the ATC3k as a webcam. A neoprene travel pouch, shims, batteries and all necessary cables are also included.
Priced at £99.99 and available in limited numbers now from Action Cameras.
