The second ever Bontrager Twentyfour12 will be held at the Cotswold Farm Park, Cheltenham, on July 14/15 2007, and it promises to be a great event for riders and families alike. The course, built by Rob Lee and checked by Keith Bontrager is going to be a real treat for the riders. Off the course, the venue will offer loads for the family.
The 24 hour solo category is nearly full, as are the 12 hour solo places – so if you intend to race, you’d better be quick with the entries. Entries will close on Monday July 9 or when the event is full…whichever is earlier and entry forms and online entry can be obtained here.
There’ll be plenty of demo bikes available on Friday 13th from Cotic, Santa Cruz and Bionicon. Gary Fisher and Trek will also be there with their 2008 range of bikes. More demo bikes are set to be added, so watch this space.</p>
Camping and facilities
There’s on-site camping which is free to competitors and their party. Limited electric hook-up points and a quiet camping area will be available at the permanent campsite (check here for details). Endurance race luxuries like showers, loos, water and chemical toilet disposal will be on-hand, which will be a godsend to regular race-goers [and their families!].
If you’re after things to keep the kids occupied, then the quiet campsite is perfectly located for families – it’s right next to the cafe and visitor attraction of the Cotswold Farm Park. The event organisers have negotiated a 10% entry discount for event attendees and their families to visit the Farm Park – bonus! The main campsite will be located near to the main arena and will also be served by hot showers, loos and water.
Exposure lights will be offering a full and free light charging service throughout the event for all brands of light. Royles will be providing the bike wash facility and neutral tech support together with their well-stocked event shop for those forgotten items and broken bits. Quaver Catering will be on hand throughout the event with their fine range of grub and a separate coffee and pancake tent next to the covered transition area. This year there will be a separate tent for the solos to keep their supplies and have easy access to things with camping nearby. SRAM will be there providing tech support. The Cotswold Academy of Health and Beauty will be providing massage and a few extra ‘treatments’ along the way [sounds ominous].
24 Solo film premiere
The 24 Solo film will get it’s UK premiere on the Friday night, which should prepare you for a weekend of hard, fun riding.
We’ll have more details soon, so keep checking BikeRadar for the latest news.
