Halfords have revealed the lineup of their 2009 cross-country mountain bike team.
The squad is made up of Sharon Laws, David Fletcher, Annie Last, Ian Bibby and Sebastian Batchelor.
Laws returns to mountain biking after riding in the women’s road race at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Bibby joins the Halfords Bikehut team with a number of national cyclo-cross and mountain bike championship titles under his belt.
Fletcher is the current under-23 mountain bike and cyclo-cross national champion.
Promising youngster Last recently made it onto the Mountain Bike Academy Programme and she has competed internationally as part of British Cycling’s Olympic Development Programme.
Bachelor completes the team having represented Great Britain at junior level at the cyclo-cross and mountain bike world championships and the European cross-country championships.
Team manager Phil Dixon said: “It’s really exciting to have such a great lineup for the newly-created mountain biking arm of Team Halfords Bikehut. The team is quite young but all the riders have had some great experience and I know they’ll be out to prove themselves this season. They have a determination to excel so I think we’re on for some first-class results.”
