Help needed for Devon trail rebuild

Okehampton riders seek volunteers to patch up Abbeyford Woods trails

Volunteers are needed to help rebuild the North Shore trails at Abbeyford Woods near Okehampton in Devon.

The woodwork trails were constructed by local mountain bike club the Okefreeriders six years ago, and have now become rickety and run-down.

The ladders are going to be torn down so the Forestry Commission can fell nearby trees, so they’ll need to be totally rebuilt.

Jamie Yates and crew at the Okefreeriders will be organising build days with free food and drink for all who attend. The Forestry Commission have agreed to supply a large amount of timber to help with the rebuilding.
