Hotlines to hold own bike show in London

Organisers insist Cycle Show 2010 is shaping up well

Earlier this year we revealed that major UK distributors Madison would be shunning next month's London Cycle Show. Now rivals Hotlines Europe – who deal with the likes of Ghost, Lapierre, Electra, NukeProof and Ragley – have announced they won't be exhibiting at Earls Court either.

Instead, they'll be showing off their 2011 range seven miles away at the Dray Walk Gallery, just off Brick Lane in East London. Hotlines' London House Show will run from 6-9 October – coinciding with Cycle Show 2010, which runs from 7-10 October.

The first three days will be open to trade and media only, but the public will be invited in on the Saturday. Anyone wanting to attend must email events@hotlines-uk.com. Hotlines' marketing manager Andy Gowan told BikeRadar: "There'll be 2011 products that you won't have seen anywhere else from 10 brands including NukeProof, Ragley, Ghost, Lapierre, and clothing ranges from Loeka and iXS. It'll be the first public preview of any of this stuff."

A spokeswoman for Cycle Show 2010 said the expo was shaping up well despite Madison and Hotlines not taking part. She said there would be new features this year, including a triathlon and more for female riders.

Distributors with stands at the Earls Court show include ATB Sales (Marin, Whyte, Wilier), Extra UK (Easton, Fizik, Intense), Fisher Outdoor Leisure (LOOK, Norco, SRAM), FLi (O'Neal, Reverse, Solid), Greyville (Sigma Sport, SR Suntour, Woodman Components), Moore Large & Co (Knog, Lake, Limar), Paligap (Fast Forward, Kona, Ritchey), Surf Sales (Dakine, Transition), Upgrade (Lezyne, Kinesis) and Windwave (Colnago, FSA, Marzocchi). There'll be plenty of standalone brands too.
