Interview with Andy Boyle, Woodland Riders club secretary

Gawton’s got it all

Andy Boyle, Woodland Riders club secretary

Three new downhill tracks will be officially opened at Gawton in Tavistock, Devon, UK on 11 April.

Local trail building group the Woodland Riders received a £50,000 lottery grant and set about building the new trails with the help of Rowan Sorrell. He’s the man behind the epic Cwmcarn and Rheola downhill runs, Brechfa freeride section and Glyncorrwg Energy section.

We visited Gawton earlier this week and were impressed with the riding on offer. We’ve got an interview with club secretary Andy Boyle where he tells us about the history of the club, why Gawton is so brilliant, the current riders and what to look out for in the future. Watch it now.

We’ve also got a video to give you a flavour of the riding on offer – go to our video of the week article for that.

Keep an eye on because we’ll have more videos from Gawton including a terrible crash, a closer look at the Specialized Big Hit and Iron Horse Sunday we rode, up-and-coming Cove rider Ash Mullane’s bike and much more.
