Care to meet NorCal mountain bike pioneers and help raise funds for Trips For Kids? Admission is free to the 10th Annual Trips For Kids beer party and fundraiser at the Broken Drum Brewery in San Rafael, California on February 10.
Come meet mountain bike pioneers such as Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze, Tom Ritchey, Ned Overend, Scot Nicol, Otis Guy, Jacquie Phelan, Charles Kelly, Ross Shafer, Mert Lawwill, Chris Lang and others, several of whom were featured in Billy Savage’s 2006 dirt documentary Klunkerz.
According to organizers, the party will celebrate the successes of the Marin County Trips For Kids group and its expansion to 57 Trips For Kids chapters across the US.
There will be drawing for a 2007 Jamis Dragon Comp Mountain Bike (retail value US$1235) and a silent auction for a 2008 Marin Bikes Muirwoods 29er (retail value US$580). Both will be sized to fit the winner. The bikes are currently on display at the Broken Drum Brewery.
Advance raffle tickets and auction signups are available at Trips For Kids Re-Cyclery thrift shop and at the Broken Drum. Noah Berry, proprietor of the Broken Drum Brewery, will also donate proceeds from food and drink sales to Trips For Kids.
