You’ll have to act quickly if you want to pick up a bargain in the SoCal Interscholastic Cycling League’s benefit auction.
Online bidding closes this morning and only a few tickets are left for the fundraising dinner tomorrow evening.
Lots include complete bikes from Specialized, Turner and Trek, and a Fuji limited edition Obey Fixie. Accessories include glasses and goggles from Smith, a GoPro helmet camera, Crank Brothers wheels and pedals, a Nimbus water filtration system and entry into all three 12-Hours of SoCal events.
There are also non-biking items, including an eight-day Mexican Riviera cruise, SAT Test prep course, Fender Telecaster guitar, golfing packages, ski goggles and Bruins and Trojans basketball tickets.
All proceeds will go to the league, which runs mountain bike programmes at high schools in Southern California. The online auction ends at 8am (Pacific standard time) today. To view the complete auction list, click here.
Guests at the fundraising dinner, which is being held at Ca del Sole restaurant in Toluca Lake, California, will be able to put final bids on all items. They will also get to meet cycling legends Gary Fisher and Tony Cruz. Tickets cost $125 a seat or $1,500 a table (10 seats + VIP perks) from SoCalDirt.org.
The SoCal League’s founding president, Quinton Easton, said: “This is our first year and our first fundraiser. With the support of our friends and families, and their friends and families, this auction will greatly help our league grow. Many of the items up for bid are useful to everyone, not just avid cyclists.”
