Londoners invited to see Hog Hill circuit

But no riding possible yet

The planned Hog Hill development

Cyclists in London will have their first chance to see the new Hog Hill circuit this Saturday, January 12th.

Being built as a replacement for the old Eastway Cycle Circuit, Hog Hill is not due to open until March 2008, and even then it’s unlikely to be completed until August. But those interested can view the Indy and off-road circuits that are currently under construction. No riding at the venue will be possible.

The viewing is being organised by the London Development Agency, who are in charge of the project. The LDA wants feedback from cyclists, as some aspects of the full road circuit haven’t been finalised. The viewing time will be between 10am and 1pm, with admission by permission of the contractor.

Directions: By car via A12 – turn north onto Whalebone Lane at ‘Moby Dick’ pub lights, then into Romford Road at mini roundabout. The Hog Hill site is reached via Forest Road which is a left turn immediately over the brow. There is no right turn into Forest Road from Romford Rd going south. The nearest tube is Fairlop, 1 mile west on Forest Road, while IG6 3HR is a nearby postcode.
