MBUK/Santa Cruz rider breaks bones at latest NPS race
Team MBUK/Santa Cruz’s Will Longden is currently in hospital awaiting operations having broken both a collar bone and a radius (lower arm bone) after a big crash in the National Points Series (NPS) 4X race at Chicksands, Bedfordshire on Sunday.
The 4X National Champ spent Sunday night in a Bedford hospital having his condition assessed before getting ferried back to his home town of Sheffield where he is expected to have both injuries pinned and plated.
With characteristic understatement, Will says that right now he is, “Not feeling the best.”
Even worse news is that Will was in the middle of writing up MBUK’s coverage of the World Championships when he had is big stack. We’ve tried to get him to dictate the rest of his report over the phone before he goes under the knife but Will’s not having any of it. So, er, looks like we’ll have to come up with another plan on that front.
Get well soon, Will – we need those words as soon as possible.
