The March issue of procycling is now on sale in the UK, featuring an at home interview with Ivan Bas
PIC BY TDWSPORT.COM The March issue of procycling is now on sale in the UK, and features an in-depth interview with Ivan Basso, third in last year’s Tour de France and increasingly convinced that he can go two places better than that this year. Procycling meets Basso at home in Italy, where the Italian talks about the huge difference that CSC team boss Bjarne Riis has made to his career and how he is relishing taking on young compatriot Damiano Cunego at this year’s Giro d’Italia. The CSC theme continues with a behind-the-scenes report from the military-style training camp the Danish outfit were subjected to in Arctic conditions in December. Great rides takes Steve Thomas to CSC’s much-used training ground around Lucca, where Classics contender Lars Michaelsen takes our routemaster on one of his favourite training jaunts. There is also the first exclusive column from CSC team leader Carlos Sastre, who will be giving procycling readers a unique insight into his cycling world every month. After last year’s Fab 4 successes with Damiano Cunego, Michael Rasmussen, Jukka Vastaranta and Tom Danielson, procycling unveils the quartet of riders we’ll be keeping a special eye on this season. We go first to Holland to meet Rabobank’s latest prospect Thomas Dekker, then to Sweden where we go training in the snow with La Francaise des Jeux’s Thomas Lovkvist, then to warmer climes in Tunisia to meet world junior road championship runner-up Rafaa Chtioui, and finally to Italy where former Paris-Roubaix runner-up Dario Pieri is battling the bulge to prepare himself for his beloved cobbled Classics. We have also got all the usual favourites in this biggest-ever issue of 156 pages, including Les Woodland’s retro feature, Chris Boardman’s bike test, wish list and a look at the latest news in knowledge. The March issue is on sale now in all good newsagents, price £3.75.
