Mountain Biking UK, the country’s best-selling bike magazine, reaches its 20th birthday this month and celebrates the occasion with its biggest-ever issue. The new issue will feature an amazing eight free gifts, over £15,000 worth of competition prizes and the launch of the MBUK Hall of Fame.
Since it hit the newsstands in 1988, Mountain Biking UK has played a key role in the development of the sport both in Britain and further afield. Along the way the mag has become well known for going that extra mile to create some truly memorable moments. Riding bikes out of helicopters and under the sea, through burning hoops, loop the loops and jumping head first into lakes – it’s all been done in the name of generating great articles.
Although it has seen some changes over the past 20 years, the magazine has always championed the mountain bike scene and continues to reflect the incredible passion at its heart, whatever the discipline and whatever the level.
And now the guys and girls at MBUK are looking to give something extra to their readers by way of celebration. The 20th anniversary special goes on sale on Thursday May 7, and among those amazing free gifts are a DVD of some great mountain bike stunts, a bottle opener key ring, stickers, NatureValley snack bar and stunning posters of top riders in action.
The new issue will be a massive 250 pages long and readers can take part in the mag’s biggest-ever prize giveaway with over £15,000 worth of kit to be won, including a uniquely customised GT Zaskar bike, top-of-the-range riding gear, digital cameras and framed original artwork from Mint Sauce.
The inductees into the magazine’s first-ever Hall of Fame are revealed as the issue charts the legends who have done the most for the UK’s mountain biking scene over the past two decades. Plus you can find out the 20 places every mountain biker must ride, the 20 innovations that shaped the bikes we ride today and 20 top tips from the stars to help make you a better rider.
The 20th anniversary MBUK special goes on sale Wednesday May 7 with a cover price of just £3.99. Want a sneek peak at the new issue? Have a look at the digital sampler.
