Missouri 2: Cavendish again!

Team Columbia sprinter making it look easy

Mark Cavendish basks in the glow of leading the 2008 Tour of Missouri.

Team Columbia’s Mark Cavendish took his second consecutive sprint victory in the 203km stage 2 of the 2008 Tour of Missouri with a perfectly timed dash for the line in Springfield.

Led out by last year’s overall winner George Hincapie and Bernard Eisel, Cavendish was delivered to the final 200 metres with a commanding lead. He needed only to give his signature kick to hold off Eric Baumann (Sparkasse) and Liquigas’ Francesco Chicchi. With the ten second time bonus for the win, he extended his lead in the general classification.
