Mountain bikers ride Olympic bobsleigh track

Taylor and Sundbaum join Adiridas freeride crew

US slopestyle riders Andrew Taylor and Phil Sundbaum took on the Olympic bobsleigh track in Innsbruck, Austria, as they became the latest signings to the Adiridas international freeride crew.

The pair took a trip to the venue of the 1976 Winter Olympics following a visit to Adidas’s German headquarters. After fitting their bikes with studded tyres and kitting up in skinsuits and full-face helmets, they took on the 1.2km icy run.

“This was the most incredible thing we’ve ever done on a bike,” they both said afterwards.

Taylor had a storming 2008, reaching the podium at events such as Crankworx Colorado. As well as riding at the Nissan Qashqai series, he was one of the only riders to attempt a backflip in qualifying on the big mountain course at the Red Bull Rampage. Sundbaum entered most of 2008’s biggest freeride comps, as well as filming his Summer of Shred DVD.
