After claiming that he was in negotiations with an unnamed Pro Tour team, Frank Vandenbroucke has lowered his sights to extend his agreement with the Mr Bookmaker.com team into the 2005 season. Vandenbroucke was handed the umpteenth opportunity to regenerate his career when MrBookmaker.com boss Hilaire Van der Scheuren signed the Belgian in mid-September. Vandenbroucke’s contract with Fassa Bortolo had been rescinded as a result of disagreements with team manager Giancarlo Ferretti and Vandenbroucke’s continuing battle with depression. Vandenbroucke’s manager, Paul de Geyter, struck the deal with MrBookmaker.com last Wednesday.
