Pinnacle bikes unveiled their 07 bike range on Friday and heralded the attention to detail that went into the design and production of the bikes that, according to designer Scott Hargrave, set them apart from other bike brands.
The bikes, exclusively available from Evans Cycles have been designed with UK conditions in mind – from the forward facing seat slots on the seat tube to prevent all that crud from clogging up the frame, to the JagwireT tube tops to reduce cable rub and protect the frame from grit and grime.
All Pinnacle bikes are optimised for maximum mud clearance and come with a free rear mech hanger – a neat extra that’ll be a godsend if you find yourself half way up a mountain with a mangled mech hanger.
There’s a comprehensive range of bikes – children’s, hybrids, MTB, women-specific, road, and folding. We took the Tent Peak 1.0 [£1199.99] out for a blast [in interesting weather conditions – wind, hail, sun anyone?] through the Epsom downs and it performed well – the bike seems well balanced and thoughtfully specced with RS Tora 318 Air working well at the front, and the Fox Float R taking care of things quietly at the rear. The full sussers in the range use ‘Direct 4’ technology – where the seat-stay stays in line with the shock throughout the entire range of travel.

We’ll be getting some bikes in for testing soon, so watch this space.
