Brake manufacturer FORMULA have just announced that one of their products – a mountain bike brake lever – could fail, leading to a complete inability to brake. Read their statement below:
FORMULA in-house tests have shown that on a certain production run of FORMULA ORO disc brakes it is possible, in the worst case, that the grub screw which secures the lever pivot on Formula Oro brakes may become loose and allow the lever pivot to become detached. This could lead to a total failure of operation and complete loss of braking.
The brakes affected are all ORO systems with serial numbers below 295236 (manufactured before the 1st of June 07).
Contact your dealer immediately to arrange a quick and simple safety check for your Oro system.
