Hundreds of cycling enthusiasts from across the UK headed west on Sunday 13th May 2007, when the Mid-Devon Cycling Club (MDCC) staged the inaugural Dartmoor Classic Cyclosportive.
The 100 mile [or shorter 100k] route takes in the impressive scenery of the Dartmoor National Park. In extreme weather conditions, 766 people lined up at the Newton Abbot start line, and 720 crossed the line.
Phillip Moore from Bristol completed the 100 mile course in under 5hrs 20mins.
