PIC BY TDWSPORT.COM Fassa Bortolo’s Fabian Cancellara will be seeking revenge against time trial world champion Michael Rogers (Quick Step-Innergetic) on Sunday. The Madrid TT bronze medallist will join Rogers and 22 other top testers at the 48.5km Chrono des Herbiers time trial in France’s Vendee region, including new hour record holder Ondrej Sosenka (Acqua e Sapone), young Belgian star Philippe Gilbert of Francaise des Jeux and CSC’s Vladimir Gusev. – Sunday’s Chrono des Herbiers will also be time to say goodbye to the RAGT Semences team after two years in the professional peloton. The seed company took over from jewellers Jean Delatour as sponsor of Serge Barle’s French team at the start of 2004. The RAGT Semences company had signed up with Barle for three years, but has pulled out of its sponsorship agreement a year early, having failed to make it into this year’s top tier of 20 ProTour teams, despite selection for the Tour de France in 2004, with no chance of making the selection for 2006. – Robbie McEwen will ride again in the colours of the Davitamon-Lotto squad in 2006, having signed a new contract that will keep him with the Belgian team until the end of 2008. The sprinter has now headed home to Australia for the summer, and will be hoping to defend his title of road national champion in January. Compatriot Nick Gates has also signed for another three years with the team, while American ‘Fast Freddie’ Rodriguez has extended his contract until the end of 2007.
