When we saw the weather forecast today it said it’s going to be 16-degrees down in our neck the woods – 16! that’s right… one-six! It seems like only yesterday we were shivering in our balaclavas, cursing our bad luck at being based in ice age northern Europe when all of a sudden, spring erupts in a cacophony of bleating lambs and barmy temperatures – and rapidly drying out trails. Right now we’re getting very excited about riding again and about the up-coming season in general; this year’s going to be huge – we’ve got the MBUK/Santa Cruz team who are going to be ripping up the race circuits across the world; we’ve got the High Action North Shore area just down the road from us in Churchill which is going totally nuts thanks to the efforts of MBUK columnist Cliff; we’ve got new bikes coming out of ears that are begging to be ridden into the ground and we’re planning a trip over to Wales to check out the new DH track at Cwmcarm: all of a sudden winter seems like a distant memory and we can’t stop grinning when we think about what’s to come. So what are you doing? Have you been digging this winter? How are your trails going to ride once they dry out? Are you and your buddies planning a trip to ride a new area, meet new people and learn a whole lot more about how to have fun on your bike? If not, why not? Now’s the time to make plans that will shape how you look back on this summer in years to come.
