Yes lights will add weight to your bike but is spending money on a poncey titanium seatpost or carbon bars really a better bet? We think not. Now that the nights are closing in, you should start thinking about the lights on your bike.
The simplest rule when sorting out your lights is that, first of all, you need to make sure you can be seen. Then, if necessary, do something about being able to see where you’re going. If you’re commuting in urban areas and your regular commute is well lit then you should be spending your money on lights to be seen with. If you’re out training on dark country back-roads then you’ll want plenty of reflective kit on so that car drivers with main-beam headlights on can see you from a long distance.
