The Devil Ride and Autumn Epic

Details announced for two Welsh cyclosportives

Riders test themselves in the Autumn Epic

The organisers of the Devil Ride and Autumn Epic cyclosportives have announced dates and details for the 2008 events.

The brand new Devil Ride will take place on August 10th, starting and finishing in Bulith Wells in mid Wales. The route will include two Devils – the Staircase and the Bridge – and will challenge riders with more than 3000m of climbing in 100 miles. The setting is the southern Cambrian mountains, providing a dramatic rural backdrop for the event.

Entries will be limited to 500, as the organisers don’t want to stress the logistics in the first year.

The Autumn Epic is in its fourth year in 2008, taking place on October 5th. It will take riders on a grand tour of the ancient county of Radnorshire, also in mid Wales. The challenge will be similar to the Devil Ride: nearly 3000m of climbing in 95 miles, starting and finishing in Knighton. The roads are expected to be quiet as the area is sparsely populated.

Entries for this ride will be limited to 1000 places, and online entry for both the Devil Ride and Autumn Epic will open later this month at
