BikeRadar Live got off to a roaring start today as thousands of cycling fans flocked to a sun-soaked Brands Hatch, with more than 10,000 visitors expected over the weekend.

Those who had arrived last night were itching to get into the trade expo area and hit the mountain bike demo loops and road circuit – and they weren't disappointed.

The action kicked off at 8am with the Cycling Plus Sportive, which was made extra challenging by the heat. As the road riders snaked their way through the beautiful Kent countryside, there was plenty going on back at the site, with the demo rides and pump track proving particularly popular.

There was loads to see and do in the expo area, with recumbents to try out, the latest bike kit on display, loads of freebies and samples, expert technical advice and technique tuition, plus big discounts on riding gear.

Crowds lined the hillside to watch the dual slalom knockout rounds, the Airbag was a big hit with the dirt jumpers, and kids were in their element, with everything from face painting to skills sessions to keep them entertained.

A steady stream of riders on everything from carbon race bikes to BMXs sped around the Indy Track motor racing circuit, which also hosted the thrilling Procycling Hot Laps and HotChillee Circuit Races.

There's loads more to see and do before the festival ends tomorrow evening, so don't miss out! Check out the BikeRadar Live website for details.
