Tour de Tryptophan Benefit Ride

Ride and donate for the Tara Llanes recovery fund

American women’s 4X and BMX racer Tara Llanes was injured in a racing accident at the beginning of September and paralysed from the waist down. A relief/rehabilitation fund was immediately set up to aid with the recovery, and this year’s Tour de Tryptophan is a benefit for the Tara Llanes Road to Recovery Fund.

From midday Friday 23rd of November until midday Saturday, riders will ride laps on the course of the Fullerton Loop in Fullerton, California – a course that Tara trained on before her accident.

The Fullerton Loop is an 11-mile network of suburban trails that pass through city parks, bridleways and creekside wilderness. Originally created by Richard Cunningham of Mantis Bikes and Mountain Bike Action fame in 1983, hundreds of people ride and train on the loop every week.

Commemorative t-shirts will be available to purchase on the day, and donations to the fund are welcomed.

If you want to contribute to Tara’s recovery fund, you can send a cheque to Tara Llanes – Tour de Tara; 4068 Green Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.
