Trek have just launched the new Madone. It’s a big step for Trek and one that will move them on from the original Madone of 2003, the classic bike made so famous by Armstrong. Here’s a quick preview of the new platform from the product launch.
There’s a complete new look and some major design changes. Firstly the 90mm bottom bracket shell with integrated bearings sitting directly inside the carbon bottom bracket shell.
A new carbon E2 fork features oversized 1 1/2in integrated bearings at the bottom crown race. And the standard seatpost has been swapped for an adjustable seatmast for improved strength and comfort.
Officially launched on the 1st of June Trek have the bikes racked, stacked and ready to go. This is just a quick teaser. We’ll cover the new bike in more detail in the next issue of Cycling Plus. Until then check out the Madone website for further details.
