The Vanderkitten Elite Women’s Team will be braking in style during 2009, now that Ciamillo Components will be outfitting the team with spendy limited edition Zero G brakes.
According to Ciamillo, early production units of the American-made Vanderkitten brakes have been so well received that they will be available for sale starting in January through independent bicycle dealers at US$599.99 for the pair, which weigh 200g.
“We wanted to do something special with Vanderkitten Racing, and we are very excited that the team and The Hawley Company have decided to make the brakes available for purchase by consumers,” Ciamillo Components’ Christian Ries Foster said.
Vanderkitten Racing started in 2007 and in 2008 finished as the number one team in the USA Crits Series. Plans for 2009 include Vanderkitten Club Teams in various cities across the US.
“We’re raising the bar for the 2009 season and the Vanderkitten brakes are another great example of how we are doing it,” Dave Verrecchia, co-owner of Vanderkitten added.
