German mountain sports clothing experts Vaude have unveiled their 2009 cycle clothing and accessory range.
It includes high-end wet-weather gear, off-road backpacks and cycle luggage including panniers.
The new jackets range from the lightweight £200 Pace Event super-waterproof model to the £60 multi-function Dundee zip jacket with detachable sleeves. The cut differs for each model, with some getting full drop-tails and others with a ‘normal jacket, wear-down-the-pub’ fit.
The new backpack range looks impressive, with models to suit the commuter to the all-mountain rider and everything in between. We especially like the look of the new Bikepark trail packs with padded hip belt, helmet holder, storage for pads and side compression straps. We’ll be testing one soon.
Paul Cooke, from UK distributors Raleigh, said: “The Vaude range of backpacks is second to none. With the Aeroflex ultra-vented fitting system they create comfortable, well fitting bags that keep your back cool. With models specific to all-day riding, downhill, freeride and cross-country, you will always find a bag that matches your riding requirements perfectly.”
Vaude’s panniers are well regarded for their durability, weatherproofing and ease of use. The new like the Wright office pannier and Egger briefcase pannier use quick-release systems which make fitting a breeze.
We’ll be testing some items from the new range soon, so keep checking BikeRadar.com.
