That’ll be performance artist He Yun Chang
If you’re out and about on your bike this Autumn then you might bump into He Yun Chang as he undertakes the largest scale work of his career so far. What’s he doing? I hear you ask. Well, from September he’ll be walking 3000 miles around Great Britain carrying a rock.
For the last eleven years He Yun Chang has taken part in solo performances that put huge physical demands on his body – ‘Wrestle’, for example – where he wrestled one hundred opponents in sixty six minutes. So, probably best not to mess with him then…
The route he takes will be a rough circumnavigation of Great Britain, rather than following the precise periphery, and will take 120 days. The first solo exhibition in the UK by He Yun Chang takes place at Spacex, Exeter [7 Oct], and as part of the Liverpool Biennial [16 Sep] in the Independent District (the Jamaica Street area).
If you see him on your travels, give him a wave.
