UK bike company Whyte Mountain Bikes will have its new all-carbon E-120 full suspension cross-country trail bike available to test ride for the first time at this weekend’s final round of the Thetford Winter Series, Sunday 10 February.
This official public launch will be the first chance for riders to sample the 2008 Whyte range. Other demo bikes will also be available, and there’ll be a selection of the range on display.
The Whyte E-120 is a bike that’s likely to prove a big hit if production bikes are as terrific as the preproduction machine we tested late last year. Waxing rhapsodic about the E-120’s “race bike responsiveness and guaranteed good time handling”, Guy Kesteven described it as “Our new ‘best trail bike’ benchmark.”
Other notable new models from Whyte include the 905, a ‘hardcore hardtail’ configured for a long-travel fork, based on the well-regarded Whyte 19 Trail.
The event hosting the Whyte launch is the final round of the popular Thetford Winter Series, sponsored by Whyte’s sister company Marin. This year’s series has seen record turn-outs to race on Thetford’s famous swoopy singletrack; the fourth round is at fire road 6 in Thetford Forest, near Brandon.
